We make fair trade: a concrete means to change the living conditions of many men and women in the south of the world, creating a direct contact between producers and consumers and the payment of a price even higher than the market one, which includes a fair salary, investments for the creation of social services in the various communities and the respect for the environment.

cocoa mass: CONACADO
it ia a 9200 small farmers Confederation in the Dominican Repubblic, founded in 1989, thanks to the fair trade has become an important subject in the national cocoa market. The farmers now can know the cocoa international quotation, not being any more at the mercy of middlemen and being able to lobby the government in order to obtain support during the frequent climate emergencies (like the Nino)
 
refined sugar cane: COPEAGRI and COPECANERA
they are two Costa Rica producers, the first cooperative involved 12.000 members and runs one plant processing sugar and two others processing coffee; besides other commercial activities offers to members loans and several social servicies. The second cooperative founded in 1972 has the aim to improve the sugar production and to offer a market to 100 small farmers members cultivating organic sugar cane.
 
Mascobado sugar: PFTC
It is a grass-root Philipinas organization, based in the Panay island and supports 3 farmers cooperatives in the production of whole organic sugar cane; each cooperative owns a mill to continue the traditional processing of cane that today is threatened by the modern sugar factories that destroy the sugar mineral components, whitening the sugar. The cooperatives offer social servicies and guarantee a price for the cane higher than the market one.
 
Dulcita sugar: COPROPAP
It is a small farmers cooperative producing organic sugar cane, it is located in the Paradiso area in Ecuador; the whole sugar is commercialized by the Ecuadorean fair trade organization MCCH.
 
Spieces: PODIE
It is an organization which commercialized spieces coming from Sri Lanka small producers: they live in the beautiful “spieces gardens” on the mountains between rice-fields and fruits trees, so they can survive protected from the incredibile international spieces prices jumps.
 
Coffe: UCIRI
It is the biggest cooperative producing organic coffee in Mexico, in the Oaxaca State (the members are 4000 families) with a glorious history and struggle against the local and powerful middlemen. The members are all indigenous and they own the land collectively.
 
Bergamot black tea: STASSEN
It is a private company producing organic tea in Sri Lanka, in its big plantations the workers (almost all women) enjoy all their rights, several servicies and facilities.
 
Organic oranges.
Produced by Michele and Teresa, two members of our cooperative, in their land near Modica.
 
Broad beans: produced by peasants in Modica.
 
Manna.
Giulio Gelardi and his wife, Cecilia, are the local people of the “Madonie manna project” by Slow Food. They live and produce in the countryside of Pollina (PA) and they supply us with the manna, traditionally extract from the bark of a Flowering Ash. They preserve and innovate the age-old coltivation of this product and they sell it in Castelbuono in the shop “Manna, miele e gusto”.
